Product Description

Twilight is an action packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan has always been a little bit different and when her mother sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for: a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James, Laurent and Victoria, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? This is the first movie from the book series from author Stephanie Meyer. The series are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 50 million copies worldwide since the Twilight debut in 2004 and over 7.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. The fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn, was released on August 2, 2008 and sold over 1.2 million units on the first day.

Bella Lullaby, As Heard IN The Movie...

Review Date: April 8, 2009
Reviewer: Sherry Louise Peck, West Sacramento, CA, USA
To those who have read the other reviews, and to those who've WRITTEN reviews about this SOUNDTRACK: If you're looking for the version of BELLA LULLABY that was played by Edward Cullen/ Robert Pattinson in the movie, buy the SCORE to the movie, not the SOUNDTRACK. The score is the songs and sound clips from the movie, the soundtrack is the edited and fine tuned versions of the songs in the movie plus some songs inspired by it.
It took a couple listens, but...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this soundtrack. I'm 25 and not as into alternative music as I used to be, and at first I was a little put off by the obscurity of a couple of the groups presented. I hated the Muse song & the Perry Farrell song, and didn't care for the rest of them. I contented myself listening to the Mutemath & Paramore songs over and over. Gradually though, I broke out of my rut and the rest of the album snuck in, track by track. I have listened to it nonstop since the day it came out. I am rereading Twilight now and it seems a little more real because almost every song on the soundtrack is so atmospheric, but with an edge.
A couple notes:
Check out Bella's Lullaby composer Carter Burwell's blog. He tells the story of how the song was born, and how he never wanted it to be called Bella's Lullaby, because he wrote it as 'Love Theme'. He talks of the studio wanting a sweet little piano piece, which he could not provide. He never intended for the whole piece to become the Lullaby and feels that it will inevitably disappoint those expecting the sweet, simple piano melody.

Rob Pattinson's music is not a highlight here. I was impressed by his talent, and agree wholeheartedly with the comparisons to Jeff Buckley. However, there is not much substance here, and his great vocal talent is lost under his mumbling. It fits in with the soundtrack because it is so atmospheric, but try to remember that he is not an experienced recording artist.

Bottom line: You are missing out if you don't get this soundtrack.

I thought the producer did an excellant job choosing this soundtrack. As stated by Stephenie, Muse was one of her inspirations for writing and I can see why, it's amazing!
Makes you feel young, even if you're not

Loved the soundtrack, I wish the other song by Robert Pattinson (where Bella is dying) was included.

Reviewer: Patrick Carmichael,
I was already familiar with the original Twilight soundtrack, and was intrigued by the additional five tracks this one contains. A great addition to the mix: one original song, one song performed live, and several acoustic or remixes. Really worth it!!
If you loved the movie, you will love this soundtract every bit as much

I became an obsessed fan of the movie and every bit as much attracted to this soundtract; it brought me back to the movie while I was reading the next book and gave my imagination the pictures of the characters all too vividly going through my head so that my own movie was being played without even being put out there yet. I cannot tell you how much I truly enjoyed all of this music, and I am old enough to be a mother to most of these characters--I am very musically inclined as are most of my family -so all of us enjoy a great variety of choices in tastes of music, and this is surely one of my top choices.
In my opinion...

I think overall the soundtrack is great. I am happy with my purchase. The only song I can't stand to listen to is "Go All The Way" by Perry Farrell. The lyrics are beyond Cheesy making it painful for me to listen to. I DID listen to it all the way through a few times trying to be objective about it but...ooh the cheese! It has a nice beat but that's all the praise I have for it. Bella's lullaby is pretty. Not what I expected, but it's still beautiful to listen to. Now last but not least Rob Pattinson's song...I really like it, the melody is great and he has a good soothing voice. I just wish I could understand what he is saying. Is it just me or is everyone else having a problem deciphering it? Maybe I need my ears cleaned!
Love this soundtrack!

I really enjoyed this movie & the soundtrack is excellent. I couldn't wait to buy this cd. There's lots of great songs on it, my absolute favorite is 'Go All the Way' by Perry Farrell - I'm playing it over & over again...I also love 'Tremble for my Beloved' by Collective Soul (been a fan of theirs since their very first album), I love 'Supermassive Black Hole' by Muse, and a delightful surprise is the songs by Rob Pattinson (Twilight's sexy vampire lead) - 'Never Think' & 'Let Me Sign' - he has a fantastic voice & a wonderful musicality. I look very forward to hearing more of his music. I highly recommend the soundtrack, it's got a great variety of songs, I love pretty much all of them, and it's a cd that you can listen to over & over again...

Reviewer: Jelly Bear,
I love the lyrics in all the songs. And I think this soundtrack exposed me to a lot of new artists that I now thrilled to have discovered. Paramore's sound rocks and though I knew of Iron and Wine before, this song makes me want to dance in the moonlight under stars just like the movie :)
Brings movie memories back

I thought that this was an awesome soundtrack. Movie soundtracks used to include songs "based on or inspired by" that were never featured in the film. Thank goodness this trend has ended. With the Twilight soundtrack, every song featured is in the film. I love all of the songs. While I listen to them I think of which moment of the film they appeared. Isn't that what a soundtrack is supposed to do-remind you of moments in the film? In particular, I love Full Moon by the Black Ghosts. I also loved Bella's theme. I thought about Bella and Edward in the trees and Edward playing piano for Bella.
If you loved the movie, then you will love the soundtrack.
Great CD lots of new songs to listen to

This soundtrack is as addictive and cool as the movie, book, and characters are! And even better than this collection of awesome tunes from the movie (including one from "Edward" himself), I highly suggest checking out the Score soundtrack (Twilight Soundtrack - The Score), where all of Carter Burwell's scores will blow you away. I own them both! They ROCK!!! If you know and love the story and characters, you'll see why all of the music is 100% PERFECT! Get Score soundtrack for the heartstrings part, and the regular soundtrack for the super-cool part!
makes the movie look even better!

well, unlike most people here, I never read the books. I saw the movie by accident as I was trying to see Australia for the 3rd time but tickets had sold out. Even if that weren't true, when I know a movie is based upon a book I always watch the movie first. For the simple reason that EVERYONE ALWAYS says the book was better. If you see the movie first, you never get disapointed, believe me, I've been at it for countless years.

So, the soundtrack didn't disapoint me in any way and it's fitted in a super smart way through the movie so that it doesn's take any of the lighness and poetry out of it, even though on it's own it's sounds heavy. I think the way they put it just gave the right amount of seriousness that otherwise would completely be gone from a movie. The actors do a great job, but without a narrator (wich sounds preety annoying) there's no way to set the mood as well as in a book without music.

Perfect score and Bella's lullaby is gorgeous! I dunno how it's depicted on the book but if this wasn't to the author's liking she would've said so. She was really happy with the result so i'd say they didn't deviate from her ideas.

PS: the song and the shooting effects they used on the baseball scene actually made me enjoy baseball for the first time in my life! lol!
Twilight Rocks

Listening to the album made it feel like I was watching the movie all over again. The great thing was that I was unfamiliar with most of these bands, and now I want to get all their albums!!!
Great soundtrack!

This is a great soundtrack...it's not full of over-played pop songs like many other soundtracks. It's been in my CD player for over a month since I received it in the mail...highly recommend :)
