I'm thrilled that the filmmakers decided to release the "Twilight" movie score, composed by Carter Burwell. After devouring the "Twilight" soundtrack and listening to it non-stop for a few weeks now, I was pleased to have my hands on the score and actually relive the background music from the movie.
This score does not disappoint. If you're a fan of the film, then the score is a wonderful way of taking the movie with you, so to speak. From the opening scenes ("How I Would Die") to the breathtaking conclusion ("Edward at her Bed"), this score covers the various moods, emotions, suspense and romance of the film. To truly get the full musical experience of the film, you really would want to get this and the original soundtrack because these two go hand-in-hand. If you're a fan of the books, then this would be the perfect CD to listen to as you snuggle up to read (or re-read) the books and dive into Bella and Edward's world. And if you're a soundtrack fan, then this CD - under the very capable hands of Carter Burwell - should be a worthy addition to your classical score collection.
This score does a superb job of covering the 'light' and 'dark' facets of the film. Darkness is represented by tracks like "Treaty," "Humans are Predators Too" and "Showdown in the Ballet Studio." Lightness is represented in "I Dreamt of Edward," "The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb" and "Dinner with his Family." My favorites would have to be the soaring and beautiful "Bella's Lullaby" and the unapologetically romantic "The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb" (which also happen to be some of my favorite parts in the movie - the meadow scene and the tree-climbing/piano scenes).
I bought this CD because I am a big fan of the books and the movie. I hadn't heard of Carter Burwell until his work in "Twilight" and I will definitely be keeping my eye on him from now on. The "Twilight" score is superb and I highly recommend it to fans of the film and books, as well as those who enjoy soundtracks and classical music. A keeper.

Exactly Edward and Bella

Mainly, the word "passion" comes to mind when listening to this cd. It's so magificent and beautiful. Of course, this music follows the movie, but works while reading the book as well just as easily. This music is compelling, heart-wrenching, and endearing to the listeners. It tugs at anyone's heart-strings and lifts you up only to knock you down and again make the full circle of lifting you up.
You can practically hear Bella and Edward falling into love during the course of the music. The album best represents their desires, their fears, the terror(s) they face, and the unexplicable love they share for one another. This score was made with love and I recommend this to any "Twilight" fan. After listening to this album, it would be hard not to bask in the optimism that love promises-especially in Edward and Bella's case. |
Excellent Work, Maestro Burwell

| Carter Burwell paints the vivid and complex story of Twilight through these masterful compositions. The same handful of melodies pervade nearly every piece, but subtle changes in key, rhythm, dynamic and instrumentation turn them into something new and unique to each song. The almost tribal drive of the drum rhythms communicate well the primal undercurrent in the story, while beautiful and mysterious melodies vividly highlight the intensity as well as the "forbidden" element to Edward and Bella's love. The darker pieces dedicated to the bad vampires skillfully communicate the one, most important thing about these antagonists: Danger. Burwell is excellent, and composed a score PERFECTLY FIT to the story of Twilight. Well done, Maestro Burwell. |

I was totally oblivious about a book called Twilight.
Then,I saw the movie trailer for Twilight. I was intrigued.
So I bought the book.
And now have lost a HUGE segment of my life.
And I don't want it back.
I have the whole series of novels now. Absolutely amazing story.
Read them for the romance, for the action, for the all-consuming tale that this author, Stephenie Meyer, has made.
But read them.
I still haven't gone to see the movie. Movies have a way of implanting and removing the images that a good book makes in the mind. My own imagination comes up with better images and faces than some director/casting agent/producer does. (I still can't get the image of Elijah Woods out of my mind when I think of Frodo )
After listening to a few samplings from the score of Twilight, I was hooked. Bought the download and am listening to it now. I can watch the movie (without spoiling my own mind's images) and create the characters for myself, with my own interpretations of Bela and Edward.
Buy this album. The music is superb. The images it creates will be with me always.
Five Stars Plus.

| O.K. - obviously I'm a twilight fan. That being said, this CD is terrific. It's amazing how much emotion the score contributes to the movie. There is so much going on during the movie and so much great music, but it's not just the soundtrack (which is also terrific, by the way!). Just a note to those that may not be aware - this CD is instrumental, so if your looking for something like the soundtrack, this is not it. It is, however, a great companion to the soundtrack. Absolutely beautiful music. |
Love it!

| The soundtrack follows the movie exactly. The songs are beautiful. And while I do like the songs on the other soundtrack these seem to fit with the movie better. Love it! |

| I have to say, this was so-so on the movie, but this soundtrack is wonderful! You relive the movie and its unique "color" every time this music plays. It is spooky and dark, while at the same time emotion and full of life. |

| Twilight: The Score, is remarkable. Not only do the songs, show the essence of what Twilight is but it captures the thoughts of what was put onto film. I adore it to bits. Any Twilight fan will love it. |
Soothing and Haunting Score to Sooth the Soul

Great Score, music sooths the soul and the "Twilight" Score soothed my soul. After a bad day at work or home or both it's great to take a drive and escape with the soothing sounds as well as the hauting as I drive.
So I guess you could say a great driving score in my case. As well as at home as I relax.
Beautiful music for a beautiful told story of deep, profounding true love.
The "Twilight Score" brings out the emotions of the movie as well as emotions that maybe similiar in all of us. I am over 30 and the books were very touching to any age I believe. Women no matter what age wants to find a love so profound as Edwards is for Bella. He is old fashioned in the book maybe that's why. So the score is also profound. If you buy it you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much for making the score for all of us.

MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE SCORE AND NOT THE SOUNDTRACK

| The soundtrack to this movie is average at best, the the musical score is fantastic. I accidentally purchased the soundtrack assuming that it would be the musical score and was sadly mistaken. If you want a bunch of emo junk to add to your collection by all means by the sound track, if you want a great movie score by the guy who did such classical tracks as "Wiring Ophelia" in Hamlet then this is the CD/music download for you. Seriously, you should download this music right now. |
A great movie score

| I am very happy with this CD, which contains all the wonderful music that was composed for the "Twilight" film. The album contains 21 different tracks, so it definitely includes most of the music from the film. My two personal favorites are "I Know What You Are," which is basically the main theme of the film, and "Bella's Lullaby," which in my opinion is the most beautiful piece of music from the movie. My only complaint is that a lot of the tracks are very short, but that tends to be the case with all movie scores. I had hoped that there would at least be a longer version of "Bella's Lullaby" on the album, but it's the exact same version that appears on the "Twilight" soundtrack, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, this is still an excellent CD, and fans of the movie will be pleased. |
Wonderful!

| Carter Burwell did an outstanding job creating the score for "Twilight." Usually, movie scores are boring to listen to, but Burwell's soundtrack is beautiful. There is something about it that I can't quite explain. I love the way he uses Bella's lullaby as theme music throughout the entire movie. Bella's lullaby is my favorite song! I love the piano. The soundtrack music is catchy, and truly captures what is happening in each scene. I love it! |

| After seeing the movie I finally decided to read the book. After reading the book I decided to see the movie again. One of the things that stuck with me while watching the film was the beautiful, yet haunting score that was such a wonderful compliment to so many scenes. Delicate, expressive music composed truly with the theme of the movie in mind. You almost feel transported to the town of Forks (covered in low clouds, mist and fog) - the music is really that powerful. If you're a fan of the books (and of course, the movie) the score functions as yet another compliment to both. Buy it...enjoy...I did! |
Beautiful score!

It doesn't matter whether you liked the movie or not, this score is beautiful! It accompanies the Twilight soundtrack (various artists) very well. The music is very emotional, and you can really feel Carter Burwell's creativity on this one. He uses drums, electric guitars and piano to create love, anger, fear and other emotions relevant to the Twilight movie.
Even if you're not the fan of the franchise, this is an awesome instrumental CD, I would recommend it to everyone!

Very Thematic

The one thing I like about this score is the fact that he stuck to one theme. A lot of movies, they like to flit around with this theme, and that theme, don't stick to the main one.(Say, titanic for one, great score, meh on the cohersion to the theme-which of course was the My heart will go on).
So you're able to follow that throughout the entire score, until its screshendo which is 'bella's lullaby'. Maybe I'm a sucker for soft piano solos, but it sounds pretty, and i'm able to evoke emotion to the music where apropriate.
I can feel the intensity of it, and the sadness, and how she's searching for these answers, with that driven undertone to some of the songs. And her reaction to these songs. But what amazes me instead of getting derailed he injects that theme into these, making them driven, making this one slower, making that one faster, making it feel like one whole piece instead of just scenes. |
Seriously Good

When I purchased "Twilight - The Score", I expected to like it.
I don't..... I LOVE it.
It's melody & arrangement is almost addictive, & I listen to it all the time.
It's a 'must' for any "Twilight" fan ... or anyone else for that matter ! |

| I have read the Twilight Saga about 3 times now, the first time without the Score. But when I got the score I would read with it in the background. It gives more of a real feel like if you were really part of the action that goes on in it. So if you like the saga this would be a good thing to have in the back ground also it's something good to listen to while you are thinking. |
A genius, heart-wrenchingly beautiful film score.

| I really love getting to listen to the music from the movie. Every time I hear it, it takes me back to a place from the movie. And the music is really intense, very good. I like this CD even better than the Soundtrack for the 'Twilight' movie. I am glad I bought it! If you like the movie, and you like music - you WILL like this CD. :-) |
